The rise in Covid-19 cases in Greater Sydney and stay-at-home orders have us all feeling a little unsettled, but I want to assure you that as an essential service, we will continue to support all of our participants, injured workers and clients.

We know our community Occupational Therapy and Case Management services will assist in preventing any decline in our client's physical and mental wellbeing, so we are offering telehealth and face to face services to ensure all clients have access to the services they need. 

We are well set up to work from home and have been operating as a remote team since 2011 and will continue to do so.

We learnt from the last lockdown that this is a time when our vulnerable clients need us the most. We have adapted our practices to ensure everyone's safety: covid-screening before every visit, masks, hand sanitiser and social distancing!

Here's our action plan:

Clients: 

  • We are checking in with all our clients to offer telehealth and ensure they have access to this. 

  • We are re-scheduling any face to face visits during the lockdown period where the person is not at risk of any deterioration or harm as a result of this cancellation (as per the advice of NSW Health).

  • We are ensuring all clients have essential medicinal and personal supplies for the lockdown period. 

  • We are asking clients with any flu-like symptoms to postpone their appointments.

  • No visits will be completed for clients who are in self-isolation. 


Covid-19 specific services:  

Isolation check-up! 

  • Is your client set up to access telehealth services?  

  • Do they have internet access to allow therapy to continue?  

  • Have their rehab plan goals been revised to adhere to social distancing principles?  

  • Are they at risk of developing symptoms of anxiety or depression with further isolation?  

  • Would they benefit from regular phone calls or video conferencing to ensure they maintain some social contact and that their mental health is ok?

Our OT’s can develop an individual client strategy to ensure all injured workers are linked to other telehealth providers and outreach community services. 

Rapid Response Discharge Service!

  • We are aware that inpatient health services are strained and patients are being asked to go home sooner than a ‘normal’ length of stay would be for their injury.

  • This will impact anyone having hip or knee replacements, shoulder reconstructions/revisions or inpatient rehabilitation following a neurological event.

  • We are able to provide a rapid response service to ensure all care, equipment, modifications and medication are in place.  

  • An OT home visit can also be completed if required.

  • 30 mins from Musswellbrook

  • 1 hour from Singleton

  • 1.5 hours from Tamworth 

  • 2 hours from Newcastle


Shey has extensive injury management experience in NSW workers compensation and will start with us on 5 July 2021. If you have a local injured worker needing an ADL assessment or case management - please give us a call to discuss. No waitlist at the moment, but we know this won't last long!!
