WOTS NEWS #15
As the year comes to an end, I’d like to say a very big thank you to our loyal customers, our inspirational clients and our trusted colleagues for another wonderful year. We’ve had some spectacular highs with 2 clients returning to work after several years in rehab and some pretty rough lows thrown in there too. Thank you to our customers for putting your faith and trust in us to get the job done right! Our team has shown strength, resilience and determination consistently throughout the year, showing up everyday with a passion for OT and a smile on their faces that could stir up the stickiest of toffee’s!
It’s been another year of brilliant collaboration and hard work from all our team members and some fantastic providers working along side us. Without these dedicated and hardworking experts around us, truly working as a team, our job as OT’s and Case Managers would not have been so successful and for that we say thank you.
End of year team celebrations! (L-R) Eryn McKellar, Debbie McFarlane, Tanya Savva, Katrina Carr, Liz Brownlee, Bianca Kinnear.
Reflecting on the year that was, there have been a couple of memorable moments that I’d love to share:
We’ve welcomed Eryn McKellar full time to our Sydney team
We’ve developed relationships with ADHC, Uniting, Anglicare & Forsight Australia providing community OT services to many of their clients to maintain their independent living
Eryn & Katrina have both completed Wheeled Mobility and Seating Assessment and Power Wheelchair Prescription courses
We’ve refreshed our home mods skills
Our OT’s are now Lifetime Care approved Case Managers
We are all FIM and CANS score accredited
Eryn & I attended a Brain Injury forum in Melbourne earlier this year, hearing about the latest research projects from some of of our fantastic colleagues
I am now on the Dispute Assessor panel for Lifetime Care
We’re excited for the industry changes coming up in 2017, particularly working within iCare Workers Care, LTCS and the NDIS in Sydney and we look forward to another great year with you all!!
This Christmas we’ve decided to close our doors for the first time in 5 years to allow all our team members to take a much needed break and recharge with family and friends. We’ll be back on deck on 9th January 2017, ready to go again!
Very excited to announce that we are an approved NDIS provider of Occupational Therapy services in NSW. We are looking forward to working with many more clients in the community to enhance their everyday lives!
As most of you would know I've been on maternity leave since the end of September. I had a baby girl! Hannah was born on 19 October 2016 at 4.16pm, weighing 3.9kg. Isn't she cute?!
