Here we are at the end of March, after Easter! I can't believe how quickly this year is flying by..

It's been a busy few weeks on the road for our team from Canberra to Newcastle and Coogee to Blacktown. We've been faced with some challenging situations in recent weeks which are not uncommon for our role. A Guardianship application and court appearance, a client with a new amputation and an unstable medical situation for one of our longer term case management clients are a couple of scenarios we've worked through this month. I'm a strong believer that everyone needs a captain and thankfully we've been able to provide support and direction to these clients through our case management role.

We've been working with our workers comp insurers on strategic claims reviews over the past month to ensure our goals are aligned and some great progress is being made. To balance the complexities of our speciality in severe injuries we're building strong relationships in the aged care sector and getting back to our OT roots! There's nothing more rewarding than being able to provide basic equipment and safety measures to allow an elderly person to live in their home for longer, especially when they hold your hand and say thank you from the bottom of their heart. Priceless!

Our team is preparing for some exciting changes happening in the market including management of some severely injured workers moving to icare workers insurance and the upcoming NDIS roll out in Sydney. There's never a dull moment as a community OT!
