I am a rehabilitation counsellor and I assist people to return to work following injury, illness or other life changing events
What does a typical work day look like for you?
My day can vary significantly depending upon my client’s and customer needs. Typically my day can consist of any of the following:
Face to face assessments including employability and TPD assessments, initial needs assessments, vocational and transferable skills assessments,
Labour market analysis,
Medical case conferences,
Job seeking and job seeking skills training with clients both face to face or over the telephone,
Liaison with all parties,
General case management.
Do you have a particular area of clinical interest?
My area of interest includes assisting people following severe injury or illness identifying direction and returning to work.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work I love being on or in the water. I discovered stand up paddle boarding this summer and absolutely love it.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I would describe myself as an early bird.

I enjoy both coffee and tea.

What keeps you passionate about your industry?
I am kept passionate about my industry by the positive impact, that our involvement, as a profession, can have regarding a client’s sense of self, worth and lives. Additionally, due to the nature of industry no 2 days are exactly the same as every client is an individual
